UK Biobank is inviting participants to return for a second assessment visit. We are starting in the Manchester area, with a new assessment centre at the UK Biobank coordinating centre in Cheadle.
If you live in Manchester or the surrounding area, please do look out for your invitation to take part – we should be enormously grateful if you could spare the time to come along. As always, if the time we suggest is not convenient, it is easy to change your appointment by calling 0800 0 276 276. The assessment centre will be open seven days a week, to allow greater flexibility in finding a time that suits you.
Don’t worry if you do not live in the north west. In due course, a second assessment visit will become available to more UK Biobank participants in other parts of the country, when we move our assessment centre closer to you.
Re-assessments are a vital part of the scientific process because they allow scientists to build a picture of how health and lifestyle changes over time. Re-assessment data, along with health information collected through linkage to health records, adds considerable value to the UK Biobank resource – already the most detailed study of its kind ever undertaken.
Scientists are starting to use UK Biobank to help answer important health questions. We will keep participants up-to-date of approved research projects via this website and our annual newsletter. If we do not have your latest contact details, please do update them by following the links on this site.
Once again – thank you so much for your support. We are very grateful.
