There are six Regional Collaborating Centres, each consisting of a network of academic and research institutes. A total of 22 UK universities are so far involved directly in the consortia.
UK Biobank Steering Committee acts as an adviser to Professor Rory Collins, the projects Chief Executive Officer and Principal Investigator. The Steering Committee comprises lead researchers from the Regional Collaborating Centres, plus Dr Tim Peakman, UK Biobank Executive Director and Dr Tim Sprosen, UK Biobank’s Chief Scientific Officer.
