How to get to UK Biobank

UK Biobank is situated in Norfolk House (next door to Croydon Central Travelodge) on Wellesley Road (close to the Wellesley Road tram stop) and just a few minutes walk from East Croydon station.

By Foot: UK Biobank is about a 6 minute walk from East Croydon station and 2 minutes from the Wellesley Road tram stop.

By Bus: The following services run in to Croydon town centre: 50, 60, 75, 109, 119, 154, 166, 197, 250, 264, 312, 403, 405, 407, 412, 455, 466 and 468. For further information, visit www.tfl.gov.uk or telephone 020 7222 1234.

By Tram: The Croydon Tramlink operates services from New Addington, Elmers End, Beckenham Junction and Wimbledon. The Wellesley Road stop is the closest to Norfolk House. For further information and tram times, please visit www.tramlink.net or telephone 0208 681 8300.

By train: The nearest railway station is East Croydon, with connections to central London and the south coast. For more information, please visit www.nationalrail.co.uk or call national rail enquiries on 08457 48 49 50.

Parking: The nearest car park is on Dingwall Road (postcode: CR0 0XH - open Monday to Sunday 24 hours). Alternative parking is available at the Whitgift Shopping Centre NCP car park (postcode: CR0 1UP - open Monday to Sunday 24 hours). Please do not park in the Travellodge car park as you will be clamped, with a £205 release fee.

By Car: From the south: Exit M25 J7/8 sign posted Croydon, for 1.7 miles, merge onto A23 after 4.8 miles take the 1st exit on Purley Cross roundabout signposted A23 Central London Croydon. For 2 miles at Fiveways Corner (Waddon) turn right for A232 signposted Croydon, Bromley, continue and at roundabout take 1st exit on Park Lane A212 signposted Central Croydon. Continue onto Croydon Underpass, Norfolk House should be visible on your right. Note: please use rear of building (Walpole Road) to drop off. To reach Walpole Road, turn off Wellesley Road onto Bedford Park and follow road round to the right. When you reach the mini-roundabout turn right, then left onto Walpole Road.

From the A236 north – turn left onto A213 (Summer Road). Turn left on to A235 (London Road) then immediately turn right on to A213 (St James Road). Bear right on to A222 (St James Road). Turn left onto A212 (Hogarth Crescent) leading on to White Horse Road. Turn left on to A222 (St James Road). Turn right onto A212 (Newgate) and keep left onto Wellesley Road. Continue along Wellesely Road, Norfolk House should be visible on your left. Note: please use rear of building (Walpole Road) to drop off. To reach Walpole Road, turn off Wellesley Road onto Bedford Park and follow road round to the right. When you reach the mini-roundabout turn right, then left onto Walpole Road.

On arrival at Norfolk House: Please report to the concierge who will direct you to UK Biobank on the 2nd floor (accessible via lift and stairs).
