Transport

  1. Where can I park? Do I have to pay for parking?

When you book an appointment we will send you a letter to confirm the date and time of your appointment as well as a map showing how to get to the assessment centre. The location of nearby car parks are shown on this map and you can claim back your travel expenses (including car park) at the end of the visit by completing a participant expense claim form. You will be reimbursed by cheque or postal order in about 1-2 weeks.

  2. Where's the nearest bus stop?

When you book an appointment we will send you a letter to confirm the date and time of your appointment as well as a map showing how to get to the assessment centre. This map includes details of local bus services and where to find bus stops.

  3. Is it far to walk from the bus stop/car park?

When you book an appointment we will send you a letter to confirm the date and time of your appointment as well as a map showing how to get to the assessment centre. This map includes the estimated distance and walking time to the centre.

  4. Can my husband/wife/partner/other relative/friend come with me, and will you pay their travel expenses?

You can certainly have someone accompany you on the visit. However, we are only able to pay travel expenses for your companion if you are disabled and need their help to travel. We will ask you to complete a participant expense claim form which can be picked up at the clinic. We will ask you to attach all original travel receipts for the round trip made for your UK Biobank's appointment and return it to the address stated on the form. You will be reimbursed by cheque or postal order in about 1-2 weeks

  5. Is there disabled parking?

Yes. We would be very happy to reserve you a parking space
