A message from our Principal Investigator
“Thank you for your commitment to UK Biobank. With your support, we have made lots of progress, and 2015 promises to be another exciting year. Genetic data will become available to researchers, and we are busy delivering our imaging feasibility study, which we hope to roll out to 100,000 participants. Nothing of this size and detail has ever been tried before, and we are very excited about its potential to open up new areas of research.
“Many of you have kindly responded to our questionnaire testing your brain function and we hope you will also spend the time undertaking our next questionnaire about the types of work you have done during your life. The activity monitor goes from strength to strength (we’ll reach our goal of 100,000 soon) and scientists are registering to use UK Biobank. Importantly, results are now emerging and are posted on our website (or you can follow them on twitter).
“UK Biobank is something we all take pride in. It is thanks to you that we have got this far in building a resource that allows in-depth research into such a wide range of disorders. The goal now is to increase the use of the resource by scientists from around the world, so that we can achieve our goal of improving the health of future generations.
“Thank you once again for your help and support.”
Professor Sir Rory Collins, UK Biobank Principal Investigator
