Precision medicine is the emerging approach for disease treatment and prevention that takes into account individual variability in genes, environment, and lifestyle for each person. Recent technological advances have improved the accuracy and lowered the price for reading one’s genetic information, which made it possible to read large numbers of genetic information in depth. Moreover, it has been known that genetic factors contribute differently by different ethnicities. We aim to find novel genes that are responsible for age-related diseases such as cancer and find ways to utilize this genetic information in predicting disease development and prognosis. Next, we will combine genetic information and metabolic phenotypes to build a multivariate longitudinal model, then perform comparative analysis between KoGES cohort (East Asian population) and UK Biobank (European population). We hope these findings will help understanding genetic architecture of two different ethnicities, realization of precision medicine and improve aging health by providing strategies for tailored prevention.
