High blood preassure is a major cause of premature death. Despite many available drugs, only 20 % of individuals with hypertension have controlled blood pressure. Our aim is to understand the mechanisms behind treatment-resistant hypertension. We study how genes and small circulating molecules are connected to hypertension and treatment-resistant hypertension. Our study may help to improve diagnostics and treatments in the future.
