We know relatively little about how physical activity impacts the risk of and protection from human disease. The amount of physical activity needed to protect against most human conditions is unknown. We propose a comprehensive analysis of activity in the UK Biobank and physician diagnosed conditions to identify new relationships and clarify the amount of activity to protect against common chronic diseases.
