Physical activity and exercises are associated with better recovery, improved functions and longer survivorship among cancer patients. However, lung cancer patients are physically inactive. And the measure of physical activity in lung cancer were by self-reported questionnaires, rather than wearable devices. Understanding the level of physical activity and influencing factors of physical activity could contribute to physical activity promotion and further health improvement. Identify lung cancer patients who are at higher risk of physically inactive will help establish tailored physical activity interventions. The aim of the proposed study is to examine the prospective relationship between social-demographic, clinical characteristics and physical activity among lung cancer patients using data from UK biobank. This project will last for 1 year. It has implications for clinical practices by improving our understanding of the predictors of PA among lung cancer patients. Ultimately, this could contribute to oncology nursing research and practice to improve the health outcomes of lung cancer patients.
