We want to use magnetic resonance imaging to establish new diagnostic methods for the detection of accelerated ageing and Alzheimer’s disease. Moreover, we will study both genetic and environmental factors and interactions between them. Results of our project will have the potential to improve early recognition of individuals who are at risk for developing dementia later in their life. They may help to establish prevention strategies and may help to implement advanced brain imaging processing methods in clinical practice. Our project will be conducted over an extended period of at least 3 years.
