The main and achieved goal of the project is: 1) the development of polygenic risk models for a wide range of diseases using the UK Biobank data; 2) applying the obtained polygenic risk models to calculate PRS in the Belgian population; 3) the development of predictive models for a wide range of diseases that include both genetic (PRS) and environmental factors in the Belgian population. Within the Belgian context, the scarcity of PRS-based analyses across a substantial sample size and a broad spectrum of diseases underscores the significance and pertinence of our project. The project includes a two-year phase of database collection followed by curation without time constraints.
