Finding patients in clinical trials is extremely challenging, with over 80% of trials being delayed or cancelled due to patient recruitment issues. Our past work has shown some success in finding patients for ophthalmology trials using AI. In this project we aim to validate the approach in an additional dataset and on additional diseases. We expect this project will continue for 36 months, and will result in significant improvements in the way that clinical trials are run, with downstream impacts of:
– reducing costs of publicly funded research
– reducing time to market of new treatments / drugs
