Research questions: What are the genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors that contribute to the development of mental disorders? What lifestyle and environmental factors (e.g., diet, physical activity, exposure to toxins) increase or mitigate the risk of mental illnesses? How can multi-omics data (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, neuroimaging) be integrated to identify biomarkers for mental disorders? How can interventions be tailored to individual patients based on biomarkers, neuroimaging, and lifestyle factors?
Objectives and scientific rationale: to leverage the large-scale multiomics data resources of mental disorders and healthy controls provided by the UK Biobank, along with lifestyle behaviors, blood biochemistry test results, and long-term follow-up data to identify key factors in the regulatory mechanism of mental disorder, improving the early identification and precise diagnosis, and providing critical references for the better understanding of the etiology of mental disorders.
