Lay summary

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a heterogeneous disease with great differences in onset age, progression rate, disease severity, etc. Genetic and environmental factors (including both protective and risk factors) are important causes leading to the heterogeneity of disease. Therefore, this project aims to identify protective and risk genetic and environmental factors of AD, and to develop holistic prediction and prognostic models of AD dementia. The project is expected to be completed within 36 months. The models we intend to build will have great value in AD clinic and research. For the public, they can help predict their risk of developing AD; for physicians, they can help guide the timing of disease intervention; for researchers, they can help screen the suitable population for clinical trials of AD.
