Lay summary
This proposal seeks to access UK Biobank data for an analysis of depression risk factors with cardiovascular disease stratified by various chronic diseases. Recently, we investigated the association of blood pressure measured before the diagnosis of depression and its incident diagnosis, which concluded that low blood pressure may be associated with incident depression (Lim et al.). Therefore, we would like to extend our knowledge by linking genetic risk and also incident cardiovascular disease among depression patients that real-world health care facilities may use. It would take 36 month in maximum during my Ph.d period. These approach will speed up the development of digital biomarker related to depression which is latest trend of our research field. Digital biomarkers are defined by objective, quantifiable physiological and behavioral data. Since medical bigdata is accumulating and can be used in various fields, mental disorders including depression could make use of it by developing digital biomarkers with scientific evidence.
