Lay summary
We would like to better understand why and how people develop diseases, how different health conditions progress and interact, and how we can use digital medicine to guide clinical decision making and support.
Can we identify markers in the available biobank data that help us to predict if somebody will develop a severe disease, or to forecast health trajectories? Can we extract usable knowledge that trigger new studies into factors of underlying diseases and conditions. Can we use these to tailor therapeutic strategies for long-term treatment of patients?
The project at hand seeks to discover novel health related factors and understand their interplay, build robust prediction models, and translate gained knowledge and models into clinical practice.
