Genomic studies of quantitative traits and diseases

Lay summary

Understanding the causes of diseases is important, as it can help prevent or treat diseases. We wish to use genetic information in UK Biobank to investigate the causes of diseases. We will focus particularly on the role of inflammation across a range of common diseases.

We will apply a range of modern genetic analysis techniques. Our findings should help identify new ways of preventing or treating diseases.

We will perform all of our analyses on the secure high-performance computing environment at Imperial College London. We will make our methods and results publicly available in peer-reviewed journals and relevant data repositories.
