Principal Investigator: Ms Jasmine Kuah
Approved Research ID: 129935
Approval date: November 28th 2023

Lay summary

Aim: The research project will help us to identify which risk factors are prominently associated with the occurrence of younger onset of stroke in adults.

Scientific rationale: To identify risk factors associated with younger onset stroke in adults.

Project Duration: 36 months

Public Health Impact: To establish a potential predictive and clinical approach framework for identifying younger onset of stroke in adults. This will enable us to identify & provide intervention in a timely manner and ultimately aid in achieving better healthcare outcomes for the individual.

Risk factors such as smoking, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, etc., are considered. By establishing this correlation we will be able better predict and prevent onset of stroke among adults at a much earlier stage and in turn achieve timely and effective interventions allowing the individual to attain better healthcare outcomes.
