Investigation on the influence of genetic factors on atrial cardiomyopathy
Approved Research ID: 115412

Lay summary
Atrial cardiomyopathy has recently been recognized as a distinct clinical condition characterized by abnormalities in the structure, contraction, or electrophysiological properties of the atria. This can lead to various clinical manifestations, such as atrial remodeling and conduction abnormalities, sometimes involving the ventricles as well. In order to better understand this condition and its implications, we propose utilizing data from the UK Biobank to achieve the following objectives:
- Investigate the relationship between potential genetic factors and the risk of developing atrial cardiomyopathy.
- Explore how the atrial lesions and clinical presentations may differ based on genotype.
In addition to conventional research methods, we aim to incorporate artificial intelligence techniques into our analysis. By combining these approaches, we hope to gain valuable insights that will contribute to the application of precision medicine in the management of atrial cardiomyopathy.
