Sleep duration in relation to oesophageal and stomach diseases and conditions
Lay summary
Sleep duration may be related to diseases and conditions in the gullet and stomach, but evidence is needed. This project will specifically investigate how self-reported, device-measured, and genetically determined sleep duration influence the chance of getting selected diseases and conditions in the gullet and stomach, which are quite common in the population. The project is estimated to last for 3 years. The research findings will inform how we should sleep in a healthier way to prevent these diseases, and at large, improve quality of life.
