Principal Investigator: Mr Pieter Kitslaar
Approved Research ID: 55634
Approval date: March 9th 2020

Lay summary

Aim:

We aim to use the collected data to help the development of automated image analysis systems used in clinical practice.

Scientific rationale:

Having a large number of data to test new innovations in image analysis tools, helps to improve the accuracy and reliability of these tools and therewith improve the efficiency of the doctor.

Project duration:

The development of automated analysis tools is a long running task. We expect to work on this for the coming three years.

Public health impact:

The increasing amount of imaging data and workload of doctors requires more and better automated tools that help the doctors to get his work done. With our research we aim to support the diagnosis and treatments choices based on the imaging data for the doctors. With these tools available the impact on the public health would be that more time comes available for the doctor to have direct interactions with the patients instead of spending time to manually measure and reporting numbers from the image data.
