Lay summary

Our project is all about improving how surgeries are planned for blood vessels. We're creating a special computer program called VasPlanSim that will help doctors plan surgeries in a better way. This program uses two important things: digital twin technology and models that look like the real thing.Imagine you have a digital copy of the blood vessels inside a patient's body. This digital copy is like a map that doctors can use to practice surgeries. We're making sure this digital map is very accurate so that the practice surgeries are just like the real thing. But we're not stopping there. We're also making physical models that look and feel like the blood vessels. These models are created using 3D printing technology. Doctors can practice on these models to get even better at surgeries. The best part is that this program isn't just for experienced doctors. It's also for students who are learning to be doctors. They can practice surgeries on the computer and the models without worrying about making mistakes on real patients.
