Vitamin D loci and colorectal cancer risk

Lay summary

The goal of this project is to determine how genetic variation influences blood levels of vitamin D. Results from previous studies suggests that higher levels of vitamin D may lower risk of many diseases, including colorectal cancer. We will also evaluate how the genetic variants that control vitamin D levels are related to colorectal cancer risk. The project duration is 12 months.
