The main purpose of the research is to help improve the ways we could diagnose and treat patients with Parkinson’s Disease and other atypical Parkinsonism. To do this, we would like to compare our local Singaporean Dataset with the UK Biobank European dataset. The types of comparisons we would make would include MRI imaging (structural and functional imaging) and radionuclides imaging (i.e. DAT and PET scans). We would also like to examine the relationship between these changes with the motor and non-motor clinical scores (Such as cognitive, gastrointestinal, smell, and so on). This project is estimated to span for about 3 years and it would have an immense impact on the way we treat and diagnose these neurodegenerative diseases. This could help with the early identification and management of these diseases.
