Our research aims to explore neuropsychiatric diseases using the UK Biobank Resource. Key objectives include:
1. Analyze risk factors and neural mechanisms for emotional disorders like depression and anxiety in aging.
2. Study age-related bone metabolism and its connection with brain function, focusing on the bone-gut-brain axis’s role in neurodegenerative disorders.
3. Investigate how skeletal muscle mass and dietary habits affect cognitive function in older adults.
4. Examine if chronic liver diseases contribute to cognitive impairment in the elderly, assessing liver function impairment across cognitive health spectrums.
5. Identify diagnostic/prognostic markers, and therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative and bone/joint degenerative diseases using multi-omic data.
6. Determine genetic bases for brain and clinical phenotypes in health and neurodegenerative disorders via genome-wide studies.
7. Explore inflammation at various ages and its link to arterial stenosis and cognitive function, utilizing multi-omic data.
8. Study age-related ENT disorders and their effect on brain function and behavior.
9. Assess health outcomes related to neurological disorders.
10. Explore and evaluate treatment and rehabilitation options for neurological disorders.
11. Investigate metabolic disorder mechanisms or therapeutic targets in aging.
