Back pain and cervical myelopathy are common conditions that affect many people, impacting their quality of life and health. They can be caused by a combination of factors like age, lifestyle, and genetics. Our research aims to understand the factors that increase the chance of getting these conditions so we can prevent them and find better treatments.
Cervical myelopathy is a problem where the spinal cord in the neck gets compressed, leading to neck pain, arm pain, and problems with movement. This can happen because of degenerative changes in the spine, like herniated discs or bone growths. Similarly, back pain is a widespread debilitating health problem that affects many people worldwide. It can be caused by different things like age, job, and the level of activity. We also know that changes in the spine, like wear and tear, can make it worse. Our research also aims to understand the risk factors of developing low back pain. After that, we will look specifically on the role of weight loss using GLP1-agonist medication in improving back pain. Our study might give us more insight on the effect of this medication which can pave the way toward new treatment options for patients with low back pain that are not candidate for surgical interventions. which can further reduce the cost of low back pain hospitalization and treatment.
