Aims: Our project aims to explore how the brain changes as aging, how these changes impact cognition, and how genetic and environmental factors contribute to these processes. We want to understand the relationships between brain structure, function, aging, and disease to develop early interventions and personalized treatments.

Scientific rationale: Aging affects brain structure and function, leading to cognitive decline and increased risk of neurological diseases. By studying the genetic and environmental underpinnings of these changes, we can better understand the mechanisms driving brain aging and disease progression.

Project duration: The project will span over 3 years.

Public health impact: Our research aims to identify key factors influencing brain aging and cognition. This knowledge can inform early interventions and targeted therapies, ultimately improving the quality of life for aging populations and reducing the burden of neurological diseases.
