Aging is associated with a variety of diseases, we aim to identify risk factors for aging-associated diseases (cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, kidney disease, cognitive impairment, etc.) and premature death.
Findings from this project will have broad public health implications. First, it will increase our understanding of the aetiology of aging-related health problems and to provide insights into biological mechanisms underlying healthy aging. Second, we will identify modifiable risk factors and that are linked to aging related diseases and therefore help develop interventions to promote healthy ageing. Third, we will also identify genetic factors that are involved in the aging related diseases, and as a result, to guide precision medicine in clinical practice.
