Our goal is to identify new associations between disease outcomes, in the context of COVID-19, and immune system genes. We will focus on genes that, to date, have been have difficult to investigate, due to their complex and highly variable structure, by deploying new computational tool we have developed called ImmunoTyper. Our hope is to provide new information about the genetic makeup of an individual’s immune system, to help identify segments of the population that have higher disease risk, higher risk of COVID-19 infection and death, and ultimate aid in clinical diagnostic and treatment decisions.
