Aim/Hypothesis: Higher plasma small HDL is associated with reduced risk of dementia in cognitive normal participants.
Scientific Rationale: Plasma small HDL might across the brain barriers and be incorporated into brain HDL that play important roles in brain cholesterol efflux.
Project duration: 36 months
Public health impact: If we demonstrated higher plasma small HDL is associated with lower risk of dementia, small HDL might be of therapeutic values for reducing dementia risk.
