This research project will provide an understanding of how health inequities, and particularly those due to genetic predispositions, contribute to differences in regional productivity across the UK. In a context where regional inequalities both in health and productivity are growing, understanding their association and how to mitigate them is of importance. We approach health inequalities through genetic predispositions to ill-health as these unfair inequalities should be compensated. We explore whether policies participate to reduce or increase inequalities. This will provide relevant insights to tackle regional health inequalities and how this translates into regional productivity inequalities.
The planned duration for this project is two years.
