We are developing novel statistical methods to identify disease-causing genes of common diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. This project is composed of methodology development, biological discovery, and experimental validations. We propose a 3-year timeline for this project, and expect to identify novel disease-causing genes that can explain the pathogenesis for larger populations than what traditional GWAS can do.
