Advances in imaging technology and analytic techniques have enabled research opportunities into brain function and structure. Diffusion MRI (dMRI) scans can be used to examine the structural connections between different areas of the brain. Likewise, we can use resting-state functional MRI (fMRI) scans to look at how different areas of the brain are functionally connected.
The aim of this project is to build models on brain MRI data to predict clinical outcomes in individuals. This research would further research on how brain function can be represented by existing MRI analytical techniques. In the long run we hope that this translational research will push the field of connectomics in a more applied and clinical setting. The estimated runtime of this project is 36 months.
