Research question(s)
(1) Investigate how genetic variations (specifically single nucleotide polymorphisms), lifestyle, environmental, and other factors and contribute to digestive system diseases like liver disease, gastrointestinal disease, and so on.
(2) Examine the impact of Chronic kidney disease,Type 2 diabetes, allergic diseases, and other diseases on digestive system diseases which may affect the digestive system disease using immunity, changes in the flora, and so on. And analyze the link between these diseases and digestive system diseases.
Aims
(1) To identify the genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors, and the interaction of diseases that influence the development and progression of digestive system diseases.
(2) To develop comprehensive models predicting the onset and progression of digestive system diseases.
Scientific Rationale
Current research indicates a complex interplay between genetic actors and environmental and lifestyle influences in the progression of digestive system diseases. Certain risk factors, such as hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity, and physical inactivity allergy,Helicobacter pylori infection, are known to contribute to the risk of digestive system disease such as Primary Biliary Cirrhosis,Inflammatory Bowel Disease,IgG4-Related Disease. Investigating these shared risk factors can help identify common pathways and targets for intervention clarify the new pathogenesis and provide a new angle of view for the new treatment and prevention.
Meanwhile, having other diseases such as cataracts and Chronic Kidney Disease may also increase the risk of developing diseases such as Primary Biliary Cirrhosis,Inflammatory Bowel Disease,IgG4-Related Disease and so on. Therefore, there is an urgent need to understand and alleviate these trends. However, existing research has primarily focused on isolated aspects of these diseases such as environmental factors
