Degenerative bone diseases represent a major threat to the health and well-being of the population, particularly those with advanced age. Osteoporosis and osteoarthritis are the typical examples of degenerative bone disease. However, the influencing factor of degenerative bone disease remains to be comprehensively explored.
This project aims to investigate the potential characteristics [including habitual characteristics (diet, physical activity, smoking, etc.), clinical characteristics (physical parameters, disease state, laborotary examinations, medication use, etc.), and genetic characteristics] that influence degenerative bone disease (characterised by osteoporosis and osteoarthritis).
The estimated project duration is 3 years.
The project will identify populations at higher risk for degenerative bone disease, which is essential for formulating targeted strategies for controlling the disease and in the public health interest.
