Asthma is a common disease globally with significant burden on both patients and the public healthcare system. Patients from ethnic minorities have disproportionately worse outcomes and current treatment guidelines are based on research amongst Caucasian-based populations, likely exacerbating health inequality. Our research project will identify potential causes of asthma in ethnic groups and also evaluate the impact of migration, generating valuable information for public health. From a treatment perspective, this will help clinicians identify at-risk individuals and will assist the development of future treatment guidelines in asthma. The expected project duration is up to 36 months.
