1.Research Questions
1) What are the causal links between genetic predisposition, various exposures, and cardiovascular diseases, and their associated outcomes?
2) What determinants influence the onset and severity of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs)?
3) Can predictive models accurately forecast the occurrence and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases?
2. Objectives
1) To elucidate the causal links between genetic predisposition, various exposures, and CVDs, and their associated outcomes through a comprehensive, population-based cohort study.
2) To investigate the determinants that influence the onset and severity of CVDs.
3) To develop predictive models that can accurately forecast the occurrence and prognosis of CVDs.
3. Scientific Rationale
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a significant global health burden, associated with substantial morbidity, mortality, physical limitations, and economic costs. Despite advancements in pharmacological treatment and management, limited understanding of the underlying mechanisms of CVDs hinders the development of better therapeutic strategies. Current models for predicting the onset and prognosis of CVDs have limitations, and robust predictive models could greatly aid in the management and self-management of these conditions.
