We are planning to leverage UK Biobank data for (aim 1) discovering/evaluating genes involved in viral-associated and immune-mediated disorders, and (aim 2) characterizing the patients populations. The project will last for at least 3 years.

We hope to generate insights that give us better understanding of the mechanism of action, allow us to validate the gene-disease association and have a better patient recruitment strategy for the clinical trials. These would be helpful in designing better treatments for patients. The insights would be useful for the community as well, in terms of better understanding of disease onset and progression in relation to genetic variations and other factors. Hope this could help improve the diagnosis of patients by enabling early diagnosis and early access to treatment.
