Objectives 1-4: Prevalence; incidence rates and rate ratios; hazard ratios; and coefficients for onset of neurodegeneration and ADRD diagnosis in mid- versus later-life among UKB participants exposed to childhood and adulthood traumatic events, and infectious diseases, compared to those unexposed to traumatic life events.
Objective 5-9: Causal estimates of direct, indirect, and total effects, and proportions mediated between traumatic events and neurodegeneration and ADRDs, using causal mediation analysis, multiple imputation by chained equations, and sensitivity analyses.
The study objectives aim to elucidate modifiable pathways from traumatic exposures to risk factors, infectious diseases, and mid-life brain health, especially among violence survivors.
