Women and men have different relationships to smoking that result in disparities in cessation success and health outcomes. These differences may be based on underlying genetic and brain differences, but more research is required to understand them. This project will provide basic empirical information regarding differences in genetics and brain in smokers as it relates to success at quitting smoking. Results of this project will help advance development of personalized, sex-specific, smoking cessation therapies. Anticipated duration of this project is two years.
