Research questions: What are the genetic factors contributing to rheumatic immune diseases? How do they interact with environmental factors? Can we develop better diagnostic and prognostic tools? What is the connection between these diseases and comorbidities?
Objectives: To identify genetic variants related to rheumatic immune diseases through GWAS. To understand disease pathogenesis by analyzing multi – omics data and immune cell information. To discover biomarkers for early diagnosis and prognosis. To explore comorbidities and shared genetic/environmental factors.
Scientific rationale: Rheumatic immune diseases are a global burden with complex etiology. UKB data offers a comprehensive resource to investigate genetic, clinical, environmental, and lifestyle aspects. By integrating different data types and using advanced statistical methods, we can gain insights into the molecular mechanisms and improve patient care.
