Our dedicated Radiography team help improve the health of everyone, everywhere, today and for generations to come, capturing quality images during the standardised scanning of thousands of people who have volunteered to participate in our revolutionary long-term study.

Supporting our participants to transform research into disease

Hear from members of our Radiography team on what it is like working for UK Biobank.

Located at our four centres in Stockport, Newcastle, Bristol and Reading, our dedicated Radiography team welcomes participants over 350 days per year.

Without the altruism of our participants, the UK Biobank dataset would not be possible and radiographers are essential to their experience.

Radiographers capture a wide variety of scans of every volunteer, making participants feel comfortable and at ease, and we’re proud that 93% of participants report feeling highly passionate to be part of such an important long-term health study.

The team works across all modalities including neuro, cardiac, and abdominal MRIs, DEXA bone density scans and ultrasound scans of the carotid artery. This makes UK Biobank a unique and rewarding place for radiographers to work.
